“Why should we use a real estate agent?”  This is the number one question a real estate agent gets asked when a client is either buying or selling a home.  There is so much information readily available, and the client often wonders why they can’t buy or sell a home on the internet or by themselves.  These avenues are available; however, some customers succeed and some fail.  It takes a lot of time, effort, and knowledge for the customer to buy or sell a home effectively.  Here are several reasons why one should consider hiring a real estate agent.

First, real estate agents have the education and experience necessary to get the job done.  The agent has the expertise to help you with forms, reports, disclosures, and other technical documents through the transaction. This knowledge can help prevent costly mistakes.  Finding the right agent is the trick.  During that process, interview several agents in order to find the individual that makes you the most comfortable.

Agents bring everyone together. Good agents will work collectively with the mortgage lender, title company, and many others to assist with the intense process of buying or selling a home.  They also make property showings and visits easier along with assuring that the customer is not inundated with pointless phone calls.

With various online real estate listing sites, one can find up-to-date home listings on his own and at any time. However, what he may not know is that the agents have access to even more updated and accurate listings. If you have a desire for a particular neighborhood, your local agent is going to have access to exciting and informative information.   Also, the agent can give you comparable sales, demographics, and much more positive feedback.

When it comes to negotiating, the agent helps the customer determine which offer is best.  In today’s housing market, you can expect lots of competition, bidding wars, and all-cash sales. Why not have an agent who is on your side?

Finally, real estate agents wear numerous hats during the buying or selling process. They really do earn their commission by working countless hours and making sure the customer is satisfied.  The agent is aware that this is likely the biggest financial and emotional decision of your life. It is a decision that should not be taken lightly, and it requires dedicated agents to complete the task with ease.
